“The world lost an icon, innovator, showman, virtuoso, master songwriter and perhaps one of the biggest inspirations ever to learn how to play guitar. This video is meant to be a tribute to Ed, nothing more, and we hope you enjoy. We will always have Eddie in our hearts.”
With those words, the band BPMD pay a tribute to an icon in the music history. Eddie was a well known musician who had many fans. It is therefor devastating news that the guitarist and frontman of the band: Van Halen, has passed away.
Eddie had turned 65 years old in the beginning of the year, but came no further. Many other bands have already payed their tributes, as also BPMD.
BPMD is short for the names of the band’s contributors and stands for: Blitz, Portnoy, Menghi and Demmel. The four of them played in other groups before and are doing so still and they now joined forces to pay their tribute to the late icon.
That they do with a tribute video. It’s a collage of photo’s from Eddie through the years. The video has the music of them playing DOA, a song from Eddie from which they made their own version.
And so the world lost again a legend from the music industry. Eddie will sure be missed.
